Review: INGLOT Freedom System

As promised, I tried out this two-pan INGLOT Freedom System palette. Read my “INGLOT in Belgium?”-post to know more about the cosmetics brand INGLOT and its unique Freedom System!

These pans can be filled with full-size eyeshadows or with ‘rainbow’ shadows, which are three similar colors in one pan. I tried out two of the ‘rainbow’ pans. Here you can see the swatches.

I especially like the neutral colored one, since it can be used for a daytime or an evening look, and it’s so compact, handy and tiny! Perfect for travelling!

But what about the quality? INGLOT claims it’s up there with MAC cosmetics and so I was very eager to find out if that is true. I have to admit that my first impressions about these shadows are very positive. I will have to try them out more though to actually decide if they’re better than MAC!

They apply and blend very nice. The consistency is nice and buttery, but I don’t think it is as buttery as MAC. I haven’t been noticing any fallout though and I was able to very easily create this eye look:

In an eyeshadow palette with two eyeshadows you get 2.7 grams or 0.09 oz of product for €19. Overall, I really like these eyeshadows and am eager to try out some more!

Review: Bourjois Maxi Delight bronzer

Since summer in Belgium is finally (sort of) upon us, I’ve been checking out the bronzing products on the shelves again. I tried out the Bourjois Maxi Delight Bronzer. Read on to discover my opinion on this product!

Look how gigantic this compact is. I'm pretty sure this bronzer would last you years. It comes in two shades, color 1 and 2. I tried color 1 Fair/Medium and thought it could be too light for me, but it’s actually perfect for an all over bronzing effect on my face. For contouring, it’s too light though.

The bronzer contains some light golden shimmers. I usually don’t enjoy shimmer in bronzers, but in this one, I find it just perfect. I apply this with my Sephora contouring/blush brush. It doesn't look cakey or muddy and I like it for a light, effortless look.

It’s not a jaw dropping/amaaaaazing bronzer, but you really can't complain for that price. It’s just what I want it to be: a product that gives me that nice, subtle glow. To be honest I don’t want a heavy bronzer right now, since I’ve been doing a very minimal makeup application lately. 

It retails for €9.99/£8.99 for 18g/0.63 oz.

Paris shopping list

Today, I’m leaving on a four-day trip to the amazing city that is Paris. For the last weeks I’ve been working to save up some sort of budget so I could at least make a few purchases whilst being in the city of blinding lights!

We all know Paris is known for its amazing farmacies. Apparently a world of magical skincare products unfolds when arriving in a Parisian farmacy. I also want to check out a Sephora and a Muji store where I might/maybe/kind of make some purchases *looks innocently*. Keep on reading to see what’s on my Paris Wishlist!

1. Bioderma H20 Solution Miccelaire -- 500 ml €8,75/500mlx2 €15,90

3. MAC lipstick in Patisserie – €18.50

4. SMASHBOX Photo finish unificateur de teint léger/face primer --12ml: €14,5/30ml: €31,5

5. Caudelie Beauty Elixer – (Don’t know the price in Paris, online it's 100ml/€33.65)

6. Urban Decay De-slick setting spray -- €24       

A short explanation why I chose these products: Basically I’m stocking up on Bioderma since Paris is the mothership of Bioderma and so it is much cheaper!

I have been wanting the 5 drawer set from Muji for a very long time but am still in doubt if I want to buy it or not... 

I can’t pick up Urban Decay or Smashbox in Belgium, except if it’s a webshop. It'll be nice to check these products out at Sephora Paris!

I would also like to try the Caudelie beauty elixer and I’m back-to-maccing my empty products and trading them for a free lip product, since we can’t back-to-mac in Belgium. I think I'm going to choose Patisserie since it’s a french name and I want to use it to remember this trip to Paris (I know, pretty childish right).

Bourjois cream blushes

Bourjois has really been stepping up their makeup game the last years and for summer, they’ve created a beautiful collection to create natural, but statement looks! I find cream blushes one of the best ways to create a very natural makeup, by using a light, colorful blush color.

These blushes contain papaver extracts, apricot extracts and mango butter extracts for comfort, shine and softness. The blushes come in four colors: 01 Nude Velvet, 02 Healthy Glow, 03 Rose tender and 04 Sweet Cherry. I tried out the first three colors.

I have to admit that I hadn’t tried that many cream blushes before, but I can say that I really like these cream blushes. I apply them with my fingers or with my Real Techniques Expert Face Brush.

I really love these blushes, they are perfect for a nice, healthy looking, flushed cheek with just a tiny amount of shimmer. These blushes feel very creamy, but dry to a powder finish once applied on the skin. 

Here you can see how color 01 is applied on my skin. It doesn't show up as good as I'd like it to, but you can notice a slight wash of color and a sheen on the top of my cheekbones. THAT'S the blush!

I feel like they also stain a bit, which I find very convenient because I NEED longlasting beauty products since I’m not a 'reapply' kind of girl. A big thumbs up for this product!

These blushes are available in the Belgian drugstores since this month and retail for €10.99 for 2.5 grams or 0.088 oz.
