HAIR: Red hurr don't curr

So, after being in doubt for weeks about what to do with my hair, I decided to opt for a light red color. I'd colored my hair to 'honey blond' twice before, but that really didn't make a huge difference. In the end 'copper blond' made the cut!

Here's a before and after of my hair! As you can tell, it's definitely not blond anymore (copper blond my ass). I have to say that I've completely fallen in love with this hair color! It looks a bit more orange on photo than it is in real life. It has quite a red undertone. 

I used the L'Oréal Casting crème gloss in 834 Toffeelicious copper blond. It's the kind of hair color that washes out. The color should completely fade after 28 washings. I love this hair color. It looks very natural in real life, it didn't seem to damage my hair at all and is very affordable. Plus, the shade makes me feel very badass. Not at all unimportant.

Product battle: Champagne pressed eyeshadows

Here I am today with another product battle! This time I'm discussing pressed eyeshadows and my two favorites happened to both be in a similar champagne color. Let's compare the Chanel Illusion d'Ombre in 90 Convoitise with the L'Oréal Color Infallible in 002 Hourglass Beige.

Quality:

Both products have a similar pressed shadow consistency. They feel amazingly soft and buttery and shimmer like champagne colored discoballs! The Chanel shadow probably feels the most buttery, while the L'Oreal one feels more velvety. Both show up very nicely when applied or swatched. They're not like pigments that contain lots of loose glitter and thus have a lot of fallout. These babies only have small shimmer particles in them without those big chunky glitters. I don't like to go for too much glitter, but these ones are just shimmery enough for a lively, awake look.

Packaging:Obviously there's quite a difference in packaging between the two products. The chanel Illusion d'ombre has a typical sleek, very fancy looking Chanel packaging with the see through jar, black screw-on top and the Chanel logo on it. The L'Oreal eyeshadow has a plastic packaging but it's sturdy and works perfectly with its product.

When looking at the product, you obviously notice a slight difference in color. The Chanel product (on the left) has more yellow tones in it, while the L'Oréal product has more white tones in it.

On the left: L'Oréal Color Infallible in 002 Hourglass Beige.
On the right: Chanel Illusion d'Ombre in 90 Convoitise

Now we notice an even bigger color difference. Also, the L'Oréal Color Infallible seems to contain more shimmer than the Chanel Illusion d'Ombre.

Conclusion: 
I like both, but for the obvious price difference I have to say L'Oréal is really competing with Chanel when it comes to the Illusion d'Ombre pressed shadow. The product is quite similar in consistency and finish, only the color and the price differ. Want the Illusion d'Ombre but can't make yourself spend the money it? I think the L'Oréal Infallibles could really be a nice dupe, plus they have an excellent shade range to choose from.

Empties #2

Let's get into this empties post! Find my last empties post here!

The first thing I used up was the Lush Avobath bath bomb. I really liked the moisturizing effect of it, but barely was able to smell it. Such a shame! 

This is the second bottle of Vichy Normaderm Miccelaire water I used up. I liked it, but I like Bioderma better!

This Syoss one minute repair mask has lasted me ages! No seriously, it took me more than a year to use this baby up. I used it after shampooing and conditioning and really loved it. I think I will be repurchasing this. It made my hair feel so soft and smooth without making it greasy easily or weigh it down, plus it really did need just one minute to work properly. 

I also used up this sample of the Rituals Himalaya Wisdom body scrub. I did not like this, it made my skin feel greasy. Also the grain in this scrub felt too big, too rough.

These two Fa deodorants also last me a pretty long time. I liked them enough, I'm not very picky when it comes to deodorant. 

Next: this L'Oréal cleansing milk. It took off my makeup nicely, but left my skin feeling a bit greasy. Will not repurchase (I know cleansing milks aren't great for combination skin but I like it a lot to take off my makeup).

Here is another Rituals product: the Sunrise scrub. I liked this product, the grain in the product wasn't too big and it moisturized my skin without making it greasy. The smell was nice.

Last but not least, these Garnier makeup cleansing wipes. Before these, I used the Simple ones and I liked the Simple ones so much better. These didn't seem to do anything for my skin, barely took off my makeup and still cost me 6 euros. Ridiculous!

REVIEW: L'Oreal Sublime Bronze bronzing wipes

Last month, my mom recommended me the L'Oreal Bronzing wipes. Curious about the results, I tried them, expecting not much of an effect. They were just wipes, right?

They come in a pack of two wipes, so we both tried one. You can use the wipes on your face or your body. The wipes felt really nice and refreshing on the skin, and softly smelled like sun screen.

After using the bronzing wipes, my mom left to do errands and I had work to finish. 

A few hours later she arrived back home and when she passed my room, I mistook her for a beach babe! She looked incredibly tan, even after a few hours. I couldn’t believe it! Did a simple wipe do that? 

It didn't take long for me to notice that I looked just as tan. We were both amazed by the effect of the wipes.

After a closer look, however, we did find out that the color had streaked out on our skin. We had some white stripes on our shoulders and arms, probably from quickly wiping the bronzing wipes on our skin, not expecting it would do anything. 

After two days, the miracle was starting to fade from my skin and it went back to normal. This wipe would be perfect if you want to tan up for a special event.

Here you can clearly see the the color difference between untanned and tanned skin.

Conclusion:
You definitely get a bronzing effect, there's no doubt about that. I only wish it lasted a bit longer than just 3-4 days. But they're so inexpensive, that it doesn't matter that much.
