HAIR: Tangle Teezer

Yes, here it is. The one, the only, Tangle Teezer! Every beauty lover and their mother and their dog owns a Tangle Teezer. I have to say, I was quite late in jumping on the tangle-free train. But now I'm here, I never want to go back.

Let me start by explaining to you what kind of hair I have. My hair is véry thin and véry fine. Someone up there just decided to have a little laugh and create this pathetic excuse for hair on top my head. I'd always been so damn careful with my hair. But lately, I'd been noticing a lot of hair loss whenever I brushed through it in the shower, even though my conditioner had soaked in properly.

I hated all that hair loss and decided finally try out the classic Tangle Teezer. As you can see below, the brush has short and long plastic bristles, and there is a lot of space between them. It has a nice shape, so it fits very ergonomically in your hand. I barely use any other hair brushes, this to me is perfect. Only for blowing out my hair, I tend to use round brushes.

Price: €12.40 on Beautybay. You can also buy a Tangle Teezer at hairdressers around Belgium, I've noticed, but they're usually double the price. I find this price very affordable for a product that makes such a big difference for me.

Conclusion: If you also suffer from hair loss or very tangly hair, this could be your lifesaver. It makes such a huge difference in my hair care routine. I visibly noticed such a big difference in hair loss!

Have you ever tried the Tangle Teezer?

NEWS: Superdry make up line

We all know Superdry from the comfortable sweat shirts and sporty clothing, but Superdry also has a beauty line, which they just expanded with some beautiful make up!

As I saw the neon and metallic detailing, I couldn't help but think how simply FUN it looked. It reminds me of summer, beach waves and surf boards!

The thing that probably got me most excited, are these adorable nail polishes. They are perfect for spring and summer.

The beauty line also contains lip glazes that come in neutral and pink shades.
For a statement lip look, these lipsticks would be perfect. They're supposed to be very smooth and light weight too!

This mascara wand has left me very interested. The shape is so weird, that I'm really curious how it would make my lashes look. The brush should extend and lengthen lashes to the maximum.

To complete the beauty line, Superdry also created eye shadows, blushes and bronzers, kohl eyeliners and a smoky eyes kit! Body care was not forgotten, as they even thought about hand creams, mirrors, tweezers and a nail care kit to finish up this cool collection.

Packaging:
I like it, it's very unique, vibrant and cute.

Price:
The prices range from £2 to £20, so very affordable. The entire Superdry beauty line is available in stores ànd online (http://www.superdry.be/be-nl/dames/beauty for the Belgian ladies)!

Have you ever tried anything from Superdry beauty?

REVIEW: MAC MSF in Soft and Gentle

Yes, here it is. Probably one of the most talked about make up items in the blogosphere is the MAC Mineralize Skinfinish in Soft and Gentle. It's supposed to be the best MSF out there and I've seen other bloggers down it 'til the last swipe. What are my thoughts on this beauty?

Packaging: Obviously the packaging is gorgeous and practical. You can see very clearly what product you're handling because of the clear lid and it's sturdy enough to travel with.

Quality: I've always loved MAC baked products, and this highlighter does not disappoint. It's very pigmented, shows up nicely on the cheekbones and has the perfect amount of shimmer. The only think I kind of dislike, is the fact that the undertone is quite bronze for me for the wintertime. However, it will be amazing in summer! But as I'm still playing around with it, I'm sure I'll find a way to make it more winterproof!

Price: €28 for 10grams or 0.35oz of product. Quite expensive, but you get years' worth of applications out of this baby. I find it worth the 'investment'!

Conclusion: I love this highlighter a lot! It's probably the prettiest highlighting product I own. However it hasn't quite obtained status of Holy Grail product yet.

Have you tried Soft and Gentle? How did you like it?

REVIEW: Jouer Matte Moisture tint

Hi everyone,

I'm sure every beauty freak has heard of the brand Jouer and in particularly the Jouer Matte Moisture Tint and Jouer Luminizing Moisture Tint. As I have a very oily T-zone, I decided to try out the Matte Moisture Tint in the color Linen. Keep on reading to find out more about this cult product!

Packaging: As you can see, the packaging is matte, which is a nice feature. You might notice that it has gotten a bit dirty here and there, but nothing too disturbing. I like the tube packaging a lot. Thanks to the tube, you can very neatly get out the right amount, so no spilling or wasting product here.

Here you can see what ingredients this product contains.

What does it claim to do:

"This lightweight mattifying moisture tint evens out imperfections and leaves your skin with a velvety smooth, matte finish with its Multi-Mineral Complew. SPF 15 protects from UVA & UVB rays while Vitamins A, C & E deliver rich antioxidants to the skin. Matte Moisture Tint applies with ease, promoting a seamless complexion. Oil free - Hypoallergenic - Fragrance-free - perfect for all skin types."

Sounds almost too good to be true!

Consistency & color: The product is very thick, but doesn't feel heavy on the skin at all. It applies easily and blends quite seamlessly. I do have to be careful around my hairline, it tends to be a bit harder to blend it there. The color Linen matches my skin tone perfectly (that's never happened to me before!).

Quality: Wow, they weren't lying when they called this product "Matte Moisture Tint". It is so matte, you need to make sure to highlight, just so you don't look overdone, heavily made up or just too flat. I like to mix in a tiny amount of liquid highlighter, which adds a more natural finish to the product. This is not a must, of course.

However, it does live up to its expectations of making sure I stay oil-free. I do notice a healthy shine coming to my face after a few hours, but I can barely call it oily. If you really want to wear it the entire day, you might want to blot in the afternoon, but that's because I can't stand oils on my face.

Coverage: I love the light coverage of this. You do need to keep in mind that this is NOT a foundation. It is a tinted moisturizer and thus has the coverage of one. It hides most of the redness on my skin, but still shows my natural skin and impurities.

I'm wearing the Matte moisture tint on this photo, topped up with some colored powder (MAC Studio Fix powder in C3).

Price: £30, I purchased it on Cult Beauty. I wish it was cheaper, but I find it worth it!

PRO's:
+ It has an SPF of 15.
+ The light, but buildable coverage.
+ I can wear it easily on a daily basis.
+ I stay oil-free during the day.

CON's:
- The finish is VERY matte.
- The price.

Conclusion: If you're in for an oil-free, light coverage face product and you're not afraid to drop quite a few coins at a cash register or make your visa card squirm at the online checkout, you might enjoy this product very much!

Have you tried anything from Jouer? Or do you have any oil-free foundation recommendations?

REVIEW: Rimmel Apocalips Lip Lacquer in Big Bang

Hi everyone,

I'm sure everyone has seen and heard about the Rimmel Apocalips Lip Lacquers. I recently picked up the color Big Bang, as you can see in my London haul! I have been really liking it in combination with a very simply eye look. Some powder, some mascara and eyeliner and this lip lacquer as the cherry on the cake! Simply Gorgeous.

Packaging: I love how the color of the product is visible. Because of this, no way you will buy a wrong color because the packaging is deceiving. It has a handy dope foot applicator, which allows you to apply the product very precise.

Quality: The color has a blue undertone, which is my favorite kind of red lip products, plus it makes your teeth look whiter! The pigmentation is insane, and that's what I love about it. You get exactly what you expect to from this product.

It stays on for hours, stains the lips but doesn't feel drying, even though it has a sort of matte, slightly velvet finish. I do have to reapply after eating or after about six hours.

Price: Normally I would've paid £6.50 for the lip lacquer, but there was a sale going on at Boots and so I actually got it for free (typical girl math, no?). But I do feel that this price is very affordable for a product that works so amazingly.

Conclusion: Love. I desperately want more colors!

Have you tried the Apocalips Lip Lacquers? Which one is your favorite color?

REVIEW: Rimmel Exaggerate undercover shadow primer

What, a drugstore eye primer? You mean, I can find an eyeshadow primer that is as good as my NARS eyeshadow primer, but costs just a fraction of the price? You'll have to read on to find out!

All hail on deck, the eyeshadow primers seem to finally start hitting the drugstore shelves. Well, in the UK at least they have, since I still haven't seen any drugstore eyeshadow primers in the drugstores in Belgium. I picked up the Rimmel Exaggerate undercover shadow primer on my London trip at the local Boots counter. Well, what's it like??

Well first of all; what does it claim to do?

"Rimmel's unique primer to maximise the colour and wear of your eyeshadow! Makes color waterproof! Apply to lid, let try, apply eyeshadow colour."

Packaging: The packaging looks nice, sturdy, decent and qualitative. It wouldn't break easily. The product has a dope foot applicator, just like my NARS eyeshadow primer.

Quality: The product comes out very watery and colorless, similar to the NARS one, only a bit more fluid.

How does it do the job? After applying, it dries fast and easily. It might give the eyeshadow colors some extra pigmentation, but it is not very noticeable.

Already a few minutes after applying, my eyelids became greasy and my eyeshadows creased a few hours later. My liquid liner transferred immediately to my hooded eyelid and thus, I walked around with very indian warrior-esk stripes on my eyelids. Not really the look I was trying to achieve.

Conclusion: What a let down. I expected too much from this product, just because it seemed similar in packaging to the NARS eyeshadow primer. A real shame! I won't be repurchasing. Maybe if you don't have very oily lids though, this might work for you.

What is your favorite eyeshadow primer?

NAILS: Barry M Gelly Hi-Shine Nail Paint in Lychee

What a mouthful; the Barry M Gelly Hi-Shine Nail Paint in Lychee. From previous blogposts you know I'm a sucker for nude, clean nail looks. That also means I had to try this nail color by Barry M.

This nail look is perfect for a very subtle, but sophisticated look.

The polish applied very smoothly, didn't chip easily and stayed on perfectly for a week. It is true that this polish is thicker and shinier than average polishes, but I wouldn't say it is as strong as a gel based formula.

This nail polish costs £3.99 and thus is a steal! I can't wait to try out more Barry M Gelly Hi-Shine polishes.

Have you tried many Barry M polishes? What is your favorite nude nail color?

REVIEW: YSL cream blush

One of those high end items I've always wanted was a YSL cream blush. They always looked so luxurious and perfect and ever since I was a little girl, the golden packaging seemed to promise me eternal happiness

In the meantime I've realized that nothing of the sorts is true, but it can give you the necessary high feeling every beauty addict experiences when shopping at make-up counters they usually avoid because of the high price range.

I finally got my hands on this beauty, in colour number 2, and have to admit that I like it, but don't plan to spend my money on this blush product again. Read on to find out why!

Packaging: What can we say about this? It is gorgeous. It looks great on your vanity or dressing table. It attracts attention and makes you believe you are a princess.

Quality: It applies nicely on the cheeks, is easy to blend out and stays on a lot longer than most cream blushes I've tried. No complaints here whatsoever.

Price: $38 - €36 The priciest blush I've ever purchased!

Conclusion: Then why wouldn't I repurchase this? For some reason, I don't seem to use this as much as I should, considering the price point of this product. The natural English rose blush look from Keira Knightley as Elisabeth in Jane Austen's Pride & Prejudice is perfectly achieved with this blush. However, it takes more time than using my beloved powder blushes, and the effect is just so-so. I am not as much in love with it as it has already been the case with previous blushes. Sorry YSL, but I'm a little disappointed! However, it is still a nice product.

Have you used this product before? Do you prefer cream or powder blushes?

Mascara review: Maybelline Colossal Volume Express Mascara 'Look Feline'

Mascara is one of those underestimated must-haves. Just a little bit of mascara and POOF you're ready to go do some grocery shopping. Supporting beautiful smoky eyes? Mascara will pull together your look. The only thing you probably ALWAYS use when wearing make-up, is mascara.

There's loads of brands out there, high end and drugstore. I personally don't like spending money on mascara since there are some very excellent ones at the drugstore. Sadly, the Maybelline Colossal Volume Express Mascara 'Look Feline' is not one of those - for me at least.

This mascara is nice and black, but clumps easily on my lashes and doesn't give them any volume. It does create that feline effect. But since I barely have any lashes, I want to let all my lashes pop, and not just the outside ones. I don't think there's anything wrong with the formula, but I really don't like the curvy brush. It doesn't give volume to my lashes at all.

I wouldn't repurchase this and have a hard time using it up. I've tried using it on top of other volumizing mascaras but sadly, it only makes my lashes clumpy.

Have you tried this mascara? Can you make it work for your lashes? Let me know!

Marc Jacobs Make-upline?

Marc Jacobs is not only that great designer that produces amazing pieces for his own lines, but he's also the creative director at Louis Vuitton and is known for having the most impressive sixpack of the fashion industry.

I personally love his Marc by Marc Jacobs line and hope to get my hands on a piece one day... (a girl can dream, right?). But in the future it will be easier to get your hands on something created by Marc Jacobs himself.

In an interview with ELLE Magazine, he said that a make-upline will be in store in July. Jacobs worked together with beauty-walhalla Sephora to create the products. He states: "The cooperation with Sephora went great. It was a new adventure to develop colors, products and packaging. I look forward to the results. It's gonna be cool."

'Nuf said for me, I will be checking out Sephora when I'm in Paris this July!

Urban Decay Naked Basics

Urban Decay's latest product, the Naked Basics palette, had caused a lot of uproar in the online beauty community. The new palette consists of six matte eyeshadow shades. There's a champagne colour, a beige, a sandy, a light brown, a dark brown and a black colour.

The one thing every beauty addict is wondering with this palette, is: Is it comparable to the other two Naked palettes? Do I need it if I have the others? The shadows are supposed to compliment the first two palettes, but are actually quite similar to the matte colours that come in the previous Naked palettes.

The Naked Basics palette is very small and so easy to take with you when travelling. But do we want all very toned down eyelooks? What if we want to go to a party? Then we'd miss the sparkles from the first two Naked palettes.

If you're a real make-up junkie, this palette might be perfect for you. The Urban Decay palettes are undoubtedly some of the best on the market. But if you have the first two palettes, this might be a bit too much of repetition for you.

The Urban Decay Naked Basics palette retails for 27 dollars, 20 euros or 17 pounds.

ELF unboxing + first impressions

I got so excited when this package arrived! This is the first time I’ve ordered make-up online and it is so much more fun than buying it in the store. It’s like I get gifts from the mailman! An addictive but dangerous thing, beauty on the internet. This is also the first time I’ve ever tried ELF products (EyesLipsFace) and I’m curious to know what the quality is like, since ELF products are really cheap. I ordered the brush belt (because my brush holder had become too small), the brush cleaner, two blushes and the contouring palette as the NARS dupe. Now let’s get this show on the road!

The brush belt
I read reviews on this online, where everybody said it would be better to invest in a MAC brush belt. But the MAC one is 40 pounds, while this one was 15 pounds. Also, I don’t need such an expensive one, because let’s face it, I’m not a make-up artist. A simple one will do. And it does its job perfectly. It holds all of my brushes and there is still a lot of room for more of them. The material is faux leather and a bit plasticy, but I knew that in advance and it doesn’t bother me. It fits me well and it closes nicely aswell.

The brush cleaner
I’m used to spot cleaning my brushes with the MAC brush cleanser and deep clean them with Johnson’s baby shampoo. But since the MAC one is way more expensive than the ELF when, and I kind of want to save it up, I wanted to try the ELF one. The pump is a nice system, but I have to use more product to have the same results as the MAC brush cleanser. It goes a long way though, I’ve been using it for a week now every night and it doesn’t look as if there’s anything out of the bottle yet, even though it feels as if I use a lot of product. I do feel that at the end of the cleaning, the brushes are not as perfectly new as they are when I clean them with the MAC cleanser, but what can you expect otherwise for that price. I don’t know yet if I would repurchase it.

ELF blush in Pink Passion
I was kinda scared when I saw the colour in the pan, because it’s really bright – almost neon. But when I put it on it’s a dark pink colour. It looks almost more like a dark soft pink on my cheeks. But I like it, even though I really wanted a cute pink blush shade. I haven’t really been able to test the staying power of it, but I don’t think it will be comparable to my daily used MAC Desert Rose since it’s way cheaper than MAC’s blushes are.

ELF blush in Candid Coral
This coral colour has a harder time showing up on my skintone, but that makes it perfect for a nice bronzy look with a heavier eyelook. I can’t wait to get experimenting with this!

ELF contouring blush & bronzing powder in D25
I’ve been wanting this for so long, and love the bronzing powder. It’s darker than my bronzing powder that I use daily, which is nice for a heavy contoured face look. I might try to use less product and maybe I can make it work to use with a heavy eye or lip as well. The blush is a very similar color to the Candid Coral blush, which I only realized as I unpacked it. It’s a shame, but I like the color, so I don’t mind!

These were my short first impressions of my first ELF products ever, hopefully you enjoyed it!

Kisses!

Turquoise breeze: A make-up look

Me and my friend Maxime decided to film a make-up tutorial. I had tried this look a few times on myself and felt like trying it on someone else. For fun we decided to film it and then decided to put it online! We had so much fun creating this!

The song in the background is Maxime singing a song she wrote herself. I hope you like the video, the make-up, the music, everything! Enjoy, I hope it makes a difference for you :)

It's MAC time!

MAC is one of these stores where you could live in. Where you can stay forever, without worrying what's going on in the outside world. Unfortunately you have to leave sometime, usually with that weird feeling of "Damn. I did spend quite a lot of money. *check wallet* Okay, way too much money." You just get swapped away so easily with that feeling that you really NEED that eyeshadow, or you really need that lipstick. So without further ado, I will show you my guilty pleasures I purchased last week, and I am loving them!

1. The MAC Oil Control Lotion:
I've got a very oily skin and I hate it. I have to reapply my make-up all the time and because my skin has turned all shiny, it usually looks really cakey. I saw some reviews of this product on youtube and decided to try it. From the first time you apply this product, you notice that it starts working. I use it as a moisturizer/daycream and especially apply it on the T-zone (usually the most oily zone on the face). My skin has been dryer since I started using it. Due to the exams I haven't been using it regularly, so I'll have to check if it works even better when I use it daily. All in all, LOVING and recommending this.

2. The MAC All that glitters! eyeshadow
and
3. The MAC 15x empty palette
My first MAC eyeshadow ever. I bought a 15x empty palette so that I can save up for the different eyeshadows. I decided to get All That Glitters! since everybody (like literally everybody) on Youtube recommended it as a first MAC eyeshadow. At the beginning I was a bit disappointed, because the color is exactly the same as my skin tone so basically, all I see when I apply it, are small glitters. But after applying other colors as crease and highlight color, it really pops and is nice, glamorous, yet subtle enough to wear daily. I usually apply it with Oh My Darling as a highlight color and Sorcery as a crease color (both from the MAC Devil May Dare mini-palette, that I'm reviewing some other time). What especially blew my mind, was that there wasn't any excess powder. I'm used to tapping it off and usually loads of product fall off. With MAC, that doesn't seem to be the case and I'm very happy with that. The colors of the eyeshadow stay on long, but I should get a primer or paint pot to apply before the eyeshadow, because it tends to blend a lot during the day. When I get home from school in the evenings, all has blended away and I am only able to see one color anymore. But remember: I have hooded eyes so that might totally be not the case when you use the product.

3. The MAC Studio Fix Powder in C4
I've been using this product for years as my everyday foundation/powder. Because that's basically what it is, a powder that seems to melt in a foundation when you apply it softly on your face. I apply it with the MAC 134 brush. This kind of foundation works good on oily skin in comparison with liquid foundation, which tends to get very cakey on oily skin. I wouldn't know what to do without this product, I bring it everywhere with me!

So, this was my MAC haul + review, I hope you liked it! I will be reviewing the MAC Devil May Dare mini-palette in the future and I'm going to the MAC store this week (again! Hey don't judge me, I hàve to go to buy a gift card for my mom's birthday!). I'll probably get a primer or a paint pot, don't quite know yet. I'll keep you guys posted!

Greets and kisses,
xX

Hong Kong deliveries

Hey guys!

Yesterday the two package I ordered from Hong Kong arrived! I had some problems with getting one of them, because the mailman delivered it to the wrong store. That was sort of annoying, but in the end so worth getting painful feet on heels that are too high for me!

I actually ordered a Totoro penholder (which I use as a make-upbrush holder) and four Bubbi brushes. You know, from Bubzbeauty on youtube? Be sure to check her videos out, she's so adorable! I learned from her that it's okay to behave cute when you're not really tall. I'm really small and I've always felt I needed to act tough to make up for my shortness. I hated to be called 'cute' and 'sweet'. But thanks to her, I realize that it's totally not bad to be small ànd cute!

Anyways, I ordered her brushes a while ago, since I don't have any decent eyeshadow brushes. And because they're not too expensive, are supposed to be of good quality and let's be honest: quite the collection item, I ordered them. To be clear: I didn't order the entire basic set. I felt like it was better for my wallet to only order the brushes I really needed.

I decided to buy the multi retractable brush, the dual eyes brush, the angled liner brush and the fluff brush. Those were the essential brushes I needed. I was surprised by how easy it was to order them. I got around five mails to keep me up to date about the order. It arrived about two weeks after I placed the order. Very neatly done. Good job Bubz!

Or should I say good job Tim, Bubz boyfriend, because he seems to be handling the orders. The funny (and kinda freakish) thing is that the sender address is on the package and I decided to keep the package. That way, when I'm ever in Hong Kong, I can secretly see what Bubbi's house looks like! And maybe wait 'til she comes out? Is that too stalkerish?

I was surprised by the quality of the brushes, especially when you keep the low price in mind. They're amazingly soft and apply product very well. I am advising users of the brushers to be careful when you load up your brush. Because the brushes take up a lot of product. You might end up with extremely clownish cheeks if you aren't careful. But I definitely recommend them! I love the packaging, the feeling of the brushes and the application.

I love the Totoro penholder as well, it's so soft and cute. And it fits perfectly in my room. I should stop buying plushies though. I'm almost 20, I guess I'm not supposed to be still buying them.

Bye guys!
